Q: What platform do I use when I click on “Demo Trading Account” from www.fxdd.com?
A: The password that you receive from signing up this way is good for the FXDD Trader platform. This login name and password will not be accepted for the MetaTrader platform. On the same page on which your login name and password is displayed you can sign up for a demo account using the MetaTrader platform. Try them both and use the one that best suits your trading style and needs.
Q: How do I place a trade (Market or Pending) or close a trade on FXDD Trader?
A: Please refer to pages 13-23 on the user manual for the FXDD Trader User Guide.
Q: Where else can I download the FXDD Trader software?
A: To download the FXDD Trader software, please visit our demo sign-up page. Upon completion of the demo sign-up form you will be prompted to download and install the FXDD Trader Platform.
Q: How do I organize and save a chart layout on FXDD Trader?
A: Please refer to the FXDD Trader User Guide. Pages 28-30 will help you with charting packages and features for this platform.

A: Using your mouse, click on “Run” and install the software from the website, or save the file to your computer, find the setup file and double click the icon to start the installation. After the setup completes, a FXDD Trader icon will appear on the your desktop.

A: The user can find the icon by using the mouse and clicking on “Start”, “Programs”, “FXDD” or Double click the FXDD Trader icon located on the desktop.

A: Create an exception in your anti-virus firewall for the FXDD Trader application and open up ports 3871 and 3872
Q: Does the FXDD Trading platform run on a Macintosh?
A: The application will run on a Macintosh after you install and run Virtual PC. Even though we cannot guarantee the stability or reliability of such a set up, you can try this at your own risk and you will be more than welcome to share your experience with us.
Q: How do I setup FXDD Trader through a proxy?
A: At the login pop up, Click Options and enter the Host name of the proxy in the text field.
Q: Why can’t I log into my Demo FXDD Trader account?
A: Check the following:
- Is your internet working correctly?
- Please check to see if your cable is plugged in and if the network card is working properly by accessing a web page.
- Are you registered for a demo account? If not please see “How to register for a demo account?”
- Within the login box, please select under “Host” “Demo” in the drop down box.
- Is the caps lock on or off? Your account ID and password are case sensitive.
- Are you sure you are using the FXDD Trader 3.7.5? The version number will appear on the top left corner.
Q: Why can’t I access the charts, pending orders, open positions, or other options that you offer on this platform?
A: Occasionally on week ends FXDD will run maintenance on the system, resulting in a restart of servers, hence some data and/or features may be temporarily unavailable. Neither live nor demo trading are available on the weekends.
Q: Is FXDD Trader JAVA based?
A: Yes, you must have the JAVA (JRE) installed on your computer to have this platform running. The automated installer usually checks your system and installs the necessary components.
Q: What scale am I using for trading the FXDD Trader 3.7.5?
A: Once you open a ticket (Spot Order Ticket), you will notice if your lot size is multiplied by 10K (mini lot) or 100K (standard lot).
Q: How do I obtain information on my account and daily transactions on the FXDD Trader?
A: Perform the following:
- Select ACCOUNT (top of screen)
- Next, select REPORTS.
- You have the opportunity to examine multiple reports for any specific time period using this function.
This report is printable for your convenience.
Q: How do I change my Password on the FXDD Trader 3.7.5?
A: Perform the following:
- On the top Menu bar, select OPTIONS
- Then, select CHANGE PASSWORD
- Input the old password in the “Old Password” text field
- Input the new password in: “New Password” text field
- Re-type the new password in: “Confirm New Password” text field.
When you log into the platform again, you must use the new password. The old password is no longer valid.
Q: What do the different colors indicate on the prices?
A: Color legend is as follows:
- Red: Current price is lower than previous quote
- Blue: Current price is the same as previous quote
- Green: Current price is higher than previous quote
- Grey: Price and Trading is suspended
Q: How do I select the Language used?
A: Perform the following:
- On the top Menu bar, select Options
- Select User Settings
- Select the “Miscellaneous” tab
- Click on the down arrows next to “Current Language” and select language.
(Note: Changes will be effective on restart of application)

A: Yes, FXDD does offer various APIs depending on client type and needs.. Certain terms and conditions apply. Please contact support@fxdd.com for more information.
Q: When I open the program, it automatically logs me in. Can I secure it so that I have to use a password?
A: Yes. We have it automatically log you on for your convenience but if you would like to enable the password follow these steps:
- On the menu bar go to TOOLS > OPTIONS.
- Click the box next to - 'Keep personal settings and data at startup'.
- The check mark will disappear.
From then on every time you restart the platform you'll need to enter your password. Make sure you have your Login number and Password recorded before you do this.
