In the DEMO mode all trades are processed in simulation (there are typically no rejections and no "re-quotes" and stops are filled at the stop price) and the DEMO mode is not an exact duplicate of the treatment orders will receive in the LIVE mode. Those who use the DEMO mode to practice trading or to develop strategies, should be aware that the Terminal serves only as a trade blotter—as a record of your trading tickets—for both DEMO and LIVE accounts and NOT as an accounting statement for the account exposure or equity.
For example, the platform Terminal will show simultaneous long and short positions (commonly referred to as hedging) in both the DEMO and LIVE mode; however, simultaneous long and short positions within the same account will be offset in the LIVE mode, and this offset will only be seen on a true account statement, not available in DEMO mode.
LIVE account holders have access to FXDD's back office system which provides users with this accounting statement that offsets trades on a FIFO basis and immediately offsets longs against shorts in accordance with NFA Compliance Rule 2-43(b).
